Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Silent Paw Dog Spa! I’m a dedicated pet groomer and a proud young mom of two wonderful children. Occasionally, my little ones may be present at the spa, but rest assured, this will not affect the quality of care and attention your pet receives. I do not expect or require clients to babysit—my priority remains providing a calm, professional, and stress-free grooming experience for your furry friends.
Thank you for your support and understanding. I look forward to pampering your pets with love and care!
Please read the following policies & procedures thoroughly

Travel
My home office is located in Rigby, Idaho, and I service the following areas: Rigby, Ucon, Ammon, Roberts, Menan, Firth, Idaho Falls, Shelley, Rexburg, Sugar City, Saint Anthony, Island Park, Blackfoot, Pocatello, Menan, Roberts, and nearby regions. I do not offer discounts for multiple pet homes. Clients located over 15 miles will be subject to a $0.70 per mile travel fee.

Inclement Weather, Illness, Emergencies, and Family Matters
Silent Paw Dog Spa reserves the right to reschedule appointments due to severe weather, illness, emergencies, or family matters. I will make every effort to notify you promptly if a rescheduling is necessary. Given the unpredictable nature of local weather, I may choose to reschedule even if conditions appear favorable. Rescheduling is a priority, and I will accommodate these changes in my schedule. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.

Spa Workspace Requirements
Silent Paw requires a minimum workspace of 4x4 feet to provide optimal grooming services. A non-carpeted area is preferred; however, I can manage in carpeted spaces as well. The spa experience can occur in locations such as kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms, or any other safe, manageable space within your home. I will utilize your water source for bathing and will take precautions to prevent hair from clogging your drain. I do not bathe pets outdoors if the temperature is below 65°F, except for larger breeds. Ideal workspaces include bathroom, laundry room, mud room, heated garages, basements, or porches.

Appointment Times

Given the high demand for dog grooming, Silent Paw strongly recommends pre-booking appointments on a 4, 6, or 8-week schedule, through 6 months to the full year. as I cannot guarantee availability for last-minute bookings. Pets requiring haircuts must be scheduled no more than 8 weeks apart. Depending on the coat type and grooming behavior, I may require a 6-week interval between appointments. Please note that appointment times are considered an “estimated time of arrival.” Arrival may occur one hour before or after the scheduled appointment time. As a mobile service, my schedule can be subject to delays due to factors such as refueling, traffic, driving distance, or managing my children. If I anticipate a delay beyond the hour window, I will contact you in advance.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

In the rare event that I need to cancel an appointment due to equipment failure, illness, or other emergencies, I will contact you in advance to reschedule. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify me at least 48 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in a charge of 50% of the appointment total ( Invoice will be sent via E-Mail or card on fi le will be charged for appointment said amount), which must be paid immediately. If your appointment is not confi rmed within 5 days of the scheduled time, and may be subject to No Show Fee of Full Appointment Cost and you will be fl agged as a no-show, which may lead to termination from my client list at my discretion. Clients with multiple pets who decide not to groom one of their pets at the last moment will be responsible for part or all of that pet’s grooming charge.
While it is ultimately the client's responsibility to keep track of appointments, Silent Paw will send a courtesy reminder with a confi rmation link 5 days prior. To avoid any missed appointment fees, please contact me as soon as you are aware of any confl icts. First-time clients who are no-shows will not be scheduled for future appointments.

First Groom

Silent Paw offers house call services, which allows me to start grooming puppies as young as 8 weeks, reducing their exposure to other dogs. I offer a service to help acclimate puppies to the grooming process, minimizing stress. Depending on the puppy's temperament, I may also incorporate face, feet, and sanitary trims into the bundle.

Matted or Neglected Coat

I will always strive to salvage a pet's coat; however, excessive de-matting can be painful, time-consuming, and may lead to skin problems. Clients should be aware that neglecting a pet’s coat can result in issues post-grooming, such as clipper or brush irritation. If a pet does not remain still, accidents may occur, including cuts or nicks. I will determine whether it is safe to de-mat a pet; if not, a shave-down will be performed.
A shave-down may signifi cantly alter a pet's appearance, potentially exposing pre-existing skin conditions. Closely shaved pets are more susceptible to sunburn, so owners should either apply sunscreen daily or keep them out of the sun until the coat regrows sufficiently. Please note, some pets may exhibit brief behavioral changes following grooming, and in certain breeds, coat regrowth may differ. Clients are responsible for the condition of their pet’s coat and will not hold Silent Paw Dog Spa liable for any adverse effects resulting from mat removal.
★ Matting Fees:
○ $15.00 Minimum for any matting that takes extra time for grooming
○ $1.00 Per Min for complete matting, shave down, compaction
○ $1.75 Per Min for Complete Pelted coat

Older Dogs

I will exercise extra care and patience with older pets; however, I cannot be held responsible for any reactions due to the mental or physical stress of grooming geriatric pets. If I determine that grooming causes too much stress, I may modify or terminate the session. Please inform me of any health conditions that could affect your pet during grooming.

Double-Coated Breeds

Shaving a double-coated breed can severely damage their natural cooling system and overall coat quality. Unless necessitated by severe matting or medical reasons, I refuse to shave such breeds, as it may lead to alopecia, hair loss, and even heatstroke or sunburn. Shaving can also cause long-term damage, as undercoat hair may grow back more rapidly than guard hairs, resulting in an uneven texture and appearance.

To keep your double-coated dog comfortable in hot weather, consider the following tips:
● Brush your dog's fur regularly to remove dead hair, prevent matting, and enhance air circulation.
● Give regular cool baths to keep them clean and pest-free.
● Trim excess fur from their paws to help with evaporation and cooling.
● Trim the legs and stomach to further aid in cooling.
● Ensure your dog has access to cool water and shade, exercise only during the coolest parts of the day, and never leave them unattended in a vehicle.

During colder months I do have a 6’x6’ screened tent that if there is adequate space I will set up to ensure that there is minimal hair flying around during the grooming session of your hairy double coated pup.

Gratuity

If you are satisfied with the service provided, gratuities for your groomer are encouraged, though not required. A simple note expressing appreciation for a job well done is also greatly valued.

Appointments less than $50: $15 retainer fee

The retainer fee is due at the time of booking and will be deducted from the final balance at the time of service. Please note that the retainer fee is non-refundable
